Due to the
length of the waiting list for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher
Program, the Medina Metroplitan Housing Authority closed the waiting
list on Friday, April 30, 2004 at 4:30 p.m. Applications
received or postmarked after this date will not be added to the
waiting list.

Housing
Choice Vouchers Program
Formerly
Certificate and Voucher Programs, to be eligible for the Housing
Choice Voucher Program, the individual or family has to have an
income of 50% or less of the county median income. The MMHA pays the
differnece between the contract rent and the client's portion
(generally 30 percent of monthly income) via funds from the federal
government.

Family
Self Sufficiency Program
The Family
Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program helps Section 8 families as they
strive to achieve economic independence. Particiapnts are referred
to training programs and social services necessary to reach their
goals.

H.O.M.E.
Program
Key
Benefits
- Home
Ownership Made Easy (H.O.M.E.) helps Southwick Place families buy
their own homes.
- MMHA
provides them with Master Money Management Program.
- Teaches
clients how to budget and clean up their credit reports.
- Families
are required to maintain savings accounts.
- Every $3
saved is matched with $1 from MMHA.
- Maximum up
to $1000.
