City of Brooklyn
Master Plan
In August, 2004, the City of Brooklyn began the process of developing a master plan to guide the future of the city. We strongly believe that the heart of a good Master Plan is citizen participation. A group of approximately 20 residents and business owners, known as the Master Plan Advisory Committee, has been formed to meet monthly and formulate a draft plan for review and approval by the City. During the development of the Plan, the Advisory Committee will conduct public presentations to give residents a chance to comment on the Plan.
We have created this website as a way of making information available to all Brooklyn citizens so everyone can stay informed of the process. It is our hope that providing this material will encourage you to think about the issues facing Brooklyn and share any ideas, or suggestions you might have. Please let us know what you think.

Survey
We are conducting the survey of a cross section of residents from around the city on behalf of the
Brooklyn Master Plan Advisory Committee.
The questionnaire was developed by the Cuyahoga County Planning Commission with input and review by the Advisory Committee. The survey addresses a variety of issues and is designed to gather residents' opinions regarding the future of Brooklyn.
The City was divided into nine neighborhoods based on the year the houses were built and common neighborhood boundaries. A total of 1,100 of the 13 page survey were mailed on October 27, 2004. This represented 20% of the City's households.
Since some of the neighborhoods were relatively small and/or had unique characteristics, a random sampling of each neighborhood was done and 20% of the households in each neighborhood were selected to receive the survey. Such a proportional stratified sample provides added assurance that the sample is representative of the overall city makeup.
The surveys are to be returned to the City by November 22, 2004. The Planning Commission will then enter, review and provide an analysis of the results in 2005.
