PUCO Grant Training Request and Information

PUCO Grant Training Request Form 2022-2023

The Center for Emergency Preparedness offers courses in Hazardous Materials (Haz Mat), Confined Space, National Incident Management System (NIMS), Business Continuity, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and various specialty courses. Most courses run with grant funding or are custom training projects.

The Center annually receives $400,000 from the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) to deliver hazmat classes at no charge to first responders throughout Ohio.

The Center’s principal audience is Ohio’s emergency responders. We also serve public and private sector safety personnel and others subject to OSHA and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) regulations, as well as business continuity professionals.

In 2010, the Center adopted the Haz Mat curriculum from the Ohio Fire Academy, thus providing consistency in our instructional material(s) and program delivery. The Center takes an active collaborative role with all levels of government and educational institutions by preparing first responders for all hazards.
