Congrats to our Leadership Academy 28 alumni! Although the cohort graduated in May 2019, the class is still giving back to the community through their capstone project: "The Super Senior Outreach Initiative" benefiting senior citizen residents at Cleveland Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA). The group is collecting various in-kind donations that they'll drop off at their next social event engaging residents at Riverview Tower.
PUBLIC MANAGEMENT ACADEMY
The 2019-2020 Public Management Academy has begun!

Since May, the cohort has been engaged in several customized workshops; not only sharpening their supervisory and management skills, but also developing their public sector toolkit. Throughout the program, participants work on their process improvement capstone project, which will be presented this upcoming March. More details to come!

THE WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP SERIES
The Women's Leadership Series (Women Empowering Women) officially launched in October 2018 under CPNM and the Ohio Center for the Advancement of Women in Public Service.

After serving in the Ohio Senate for over 16 years, Senator Grace L. Drake founded the Ohio Center for the Advancement of Women in Public Service in 2001 at the Maxine Goodman Levin School of Urban Affairs. Senator Drake established the Center in hopes of inspiring more women to pursue public sector careers.

The Women's Leadership Series was created to engage and empower public and nonprofit sector leaders throughout Northeast Ohio, while promoting the concept of gender representation at all levels of leadership. The theme - "Women Empowering Women"- hones in on the notion that women should support, empower, and mentor one another. The series' programming is strategically designed to capitalize on this theme of empowerment within sectors where political pressures are at play, resources remain tight, and the competition to rise to executive leadership endures.
Thank you to everyone who helped make the Women's Leadership "Speed Networking" and "Navigating Transition: Embracing the Journey" events such a success!
Speed Networking
The "Speed Networking" event, which took place on May 21st, involved various public and nonprofit sector leaders throughout Northeast Ohio. Participants engaged in multiple one-on-one, 5 minute interactions with the intent of expanding their professional networking and building relationships with fellow change agents.

The concept of organizing a speed networking event transpired from one of the small group discussions held at the series' "Courageous Conversations" program back in March.
Navigating Transition: Embracing the Journey
The "Navigating Transition: Embracing the Journey" event took place on September 12th. Participants approached the concept of navigating professional transition as female leaders while supporting, empowering, and learning from one another. The event included a panel discussion, a resume review, a breakout session on leveraging LinkedIn, networking, as well as a brief coaching sessions with job search coach Sue Nelson.

Panelists included:
