Wendy A. Kellogg is an Professor of Urban
Planning and Environmental Studies. Dr. Kellogg earned her Ph.D.
(City and Regional Planning) at Cornell University in 1993. Her
major fields of research interest are citizen participation, urban
and regional sustainability, neighborhood redevelopment, and Great
Lakes water quality and land use issues. She has published analyses
of Great Lakes water quality planning programs and citizen
participation in neighborhood-based environmental planning.
Her research projects have included an
environmental history and inventory of a neighborhood in central
Cleveland, Ohio, the role of information technologies by
neighborhood-based organizations, the role of local decision makers
in coastal and watershed protection, and the role of training
programs in shaping local decision maker behavior toward coastal
management. Dr. Kellogg was an Ohio Campus Compact Learn and Serve
Fellow in 1998 and a USEPA-funded Fellow at the CSU Program on Risk
Analysis in 2000-2001. Dr. Kellogg was a member of the Ohio Lake
Erie Commission Blue Ribbon Taskforce on Balanced Growth in the Lake
Erie Basin in 2001-2004 and has continued her work with the Balanced
Growth program in a research and technical advisory role. Dr. Kellogg
teaches courses in urban planning, environmental planning,
environmental policy, and urban studies. |

Cleveland Metroparks
Mr. Kastelic has over 30 years of
experience in city planning, land use regulation, public management,
environmental resource assessment, and site analysis. He currently works
with Cleveland Metroparks in Planning, Design, and Natural Resources,
where his responsibilities include:
- Identifying and evaluating opportunities to
conserve open space consistent with the Park District’s mission;
- Developing local and regional partnerships and
building consensus for Metroparks open space initiatives through
outreach with public, private and non-profit stakeholders;
- Securing financial support for Metroparks
projects through federal and state grant programs;
- Conducting greenway corridor planning studies;
- Managing consultant contracts.
Prior to his position with the
Cleveland Metroparks, Mr. Kastelic had worked with the Cuyahoga
County Planning Commission and its predecessor, the Regional Planning
Commission, for over twenty-five years. From 1996 to 2002, he served as
Deputy Director of the Commission. He received his Bachelors degree from
the University of Kansas and his Masters from Kent State University, both
with majors in Urban Geography. He is also adjunct faculty at the College
of Urban Affairs. Mr. Kastelic currently serves on several planning
committees and nonprofit boards, including the Cuyahoga Valley Community
Council, Cleveland Lakefront Advisory Committee, Ohio
Coastal Resource Management Project, Scenic
Ohio, Ohio Coastal Resource Advisory Council, and Ohio
Canal and Towpath Committee.
