Reviving Our Waterfront Line

A City-To-Shore Vision for Connectivity

Project Purpose

This capstone project collaborates with the Cleveland City Planning Commission (CPC) on their ongoing waterfront planning initiative. This initiative aims to transform how Clevelanders access and experience their downtown waterfront, currently hindered by historical barriers.

The project focuses on the Waterfront Line, a light rail transit project connecting the riverfront and lakefront. While currently underutilized, this line has the potential to become a vital piece of a revitalized and accessible waterfront for all residents. Reviving Our Waterfront isn’t just about fixing a transportation route, it’s about creating a thriving waterfront district with the Water Front Line as its backbone. By focusing on accessibility, resilience, and equity, this vision paves the way for a more connected and equitable downtown Cleveland.
