About the Project

For the Greenway Initiative project, students were split into four groups. Each group was assigned a different redevelopment scenario, ranging from simply using a railroad right-of-way, to cleaning out the entire valley and introducing extensive recreational opportunities. Prior to this, students spent the entire semester collecting data about the project. Data was collected on many and varied topics, including environmental issues, retail markets, political contingencies, funding sources, construction costs, and recreation. All of this data was supplemented by surveys conducted by the students.
