During the Spring Semester 2006, The students in the Masters
of Urban Planning, Design, and Development program worked
on an in-class studio project studying the Lower Big Creek
Valley in Cleveland's Old Brooklyn Neighborhood.
The focus of the project was to find the most beneficial
route to create an extension of the Towpath Trail from the
Harvard Avenue trailhead to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.
After exhaustive research and surveys administered to area
residents and users of the Cuyahoga Towpath Trail and Cleveland
Metroparks Zoo, the students discovered four different scenarios
for redevelopment of this valley.
